There are two more nesting places on our golf course.
Painted by the children Ruven, Levi and Ina.
The smaller Badhof bird house is intended for wrens. These nesting sites should be hung a maximum of two metres above the ground and protected with leaves or climbing plants, but still with free access. A north-east exposure is ideal. A tree or the wall of a house or shed is ideal.
The larger bird house is suitable for robins, grey flycatchers and redstarts. For robins, the nesting place should not be more than 1.5 m high, for grey flycatchers and redstarts it can be 1 - 5 m high. Here too, a sheltered location is preferred, not in direct sunlight or rain.
We have found suitable places for both nesting sites. They are only visible to the trained eye, thanks to the sheltered location.
We hope that the birds will use them this year and are already looking forward to it.
